Holistic Yoga Healing Overview

Yoga first appeared over 3500 years ago within the landscapes of ancient India. Over the millennia of yoga’s existence, we have had the benefit of learning more about the nature of human beings and a growth of scientific understanding through significant developments in the sciences of biology, chemistry, neurology and kinesiology.

Today, in our modern time with the boost of scientific and philosophical understanding, the practice of the different disciplines of yoga has a richer set of insights into the forces at play when doing postural, breathing, sound and meditation practices. About Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga – encompassing many other styles of yoga – has an origin being thousands of years old, deriving from the ancient yogic texts.

In Hatha Yoga’s original philosophies, pranayama (breath) and asanas (postures) were to achieve a meditative state of oneness with the self. It was also to achieve oneness with one’s higher power and higher consciousness. The full practice of Hatha yoga was to help one progress upon the path of ascension to ultimately be one with the all (with Self, with God Consciousness and with Universal Source).

When practicing Hatha Yoga Asanas; a pose will be held (for several breaths at a beginners level and then at an advance level will be held for minutes) to strive for a meditative state and to strive for a perfect posture, before moving into the next pose. Through breathing exercises in combination with physical poses, Hatha yoga seeks to cleanse and connect the mind and body. Through the full practice of Hatha yoga disciplines it seeks to cleanse, connect and balance in harmony the mind, body, aura, spirit and soul.
